The 'International City of Gastronomy' in Lyon is an exceptional and original project showcasing the food and gastronomy culture with particular emphasis on the relationship between food and health. 'The Grand Hôtel-Dieu' was chosen as the future venue for the great project. This location is an historic monument where Rabelais once worked and now undergoing a monumental refurbishment, funded by the Eiffage Group. This heritage site will be completely given over to well-being, lifestyle, gastronomy and the dining experience. The culinary theme will be rolled out over the entire site with shops, restaurants and cafés.
It will also be the venue for exhibitions and cultural events for all audiences, where the spotlight will be on know-how and talent. This City of Gastronomy will also be a place of research and innovation to finally be under the theme of 'food and health', a theme which allow the general public to explore a new field of research and knowledge.
