THE STORY :

Heartwarming tale of haute couture, based on the classic novel by Paul Gallico. In this official collaboration with the House of Dior, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris weaves the tale of a widowed cleaner who falls madly in love with a beautiful Dior creation that she simply must own. After suddenly receiving a war-widow's pension, Ada (Lesley Manville) travels to Paris to do so. She stumbles into a showing of Dior's 10th anniversary collection and is befriended by André (Lucas Bravo), the Dior accountant, and Natasha (Alba Baptista), a Dior model. However, the Dior director, Claudine (isabelle Huppert), resents Ada's intrusion into the exclusive world of haute couture.

Dior has fallen on hard financial times, and, because Ada will pay in cash, they reluctantly agree to make her a dress. When Claudine is forced to fire several Dior's workers for financial reasons, Ada organises a strike and forces Claudine and Christian Dior to hear André's ideas to modernise and make the business profitable....

A perfume named Christian Dior is used in Haruki Murakami's novel The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle as an influential symbol placed at critical plot points throughout... The English singer-songwriter Morrissey released a song titled "Christian Dior" as a B-side to his 2006 single "In the Future When All's Well"... Kanye West released a song titled "Christian Dior Denim Flow" in 2010.... The late American rapper Pop Smoke released a song titled Dior in July 2019. ...In 2016, book publisher Assouline introduced an ongoing series devoted to each designer of the couture house of Dior. ...

Through this Tale, is reminded to the audiences that it is never too late to follow your heart... The Fifties saw a new development in the music scene and a a return to femininity.... The Icons of this decade are still influencing people in the present day... With the Dior New Look, Christian Dior was hugely influential in the Fifties with his rebelled use of fabric. He used as much as he could and cut the fabric in a certain way that they fell elegantly. He wanted to show that his garments were luxurious and fitted well. Celebrating the hourglass figure the look became iconic for Dior.
