New York hotel fires employee for leaking Jay-Z attack video
USPA News -
A New York City hotel has identified and fired the employee responsible for leaking surveillance footage that appeared to show singer Solange Knowles attacking rapper Jay-Z inside an elevator, the company confirmed on Thursday, adding that it will pursue criminal action. The luxury Standard Hotel in Manhattan had previously said it was "shocked and disappointed" after gossip and entertainment news website TMZ.com published a three-minute video from a surveillance video inside one of its elevators.
It appeared to show Beyonce`s sister, Solange Knowles, attacking Jay Z. "The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ," the hotel said in an emailed statement on Thursday. "The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies." The hotel, which did not release the identity of the employee, said it would turn over all available information to authorities. Representatives for Solange and Jay-Z, who married Beyonce in 2008 and have a child together, have not commented on the video, which was apparently shot last week.
