USPA NEWS - Edinburgh International Film Festival explores new ideas in cinema, inviting local and international audiences to engage with a dynamic programme of fiction and documentary work. EIFF is committed to providing support for the film industry.
A festival committed to showcasing the most exciting, original and challenging new films and the most promising new talent, each year EIFF welcomes over 1,400 industry delegates, filmmakers and members of the press. The 69th EIFF will take place from 17 to 28 June 2015. Industry offerings include a packed programme of events, screenings and networking opportunities. They run alongside a series of talent development initiatives designed to support the best emerging talent from across the UK.
Festival strands this year include Best of British, American Dreams, Directors' Showcase, New Perspectives, Documentaries/Doc of the Day, Night Moves, Animation, Black Box, Shorts, The Young and the Wild, Classics and our Retrospectives - Focus on Mexico, Little Big Screen and Walter Hill: The Early Years. Awards at EIFF include Best International Feature Film, Best International Documentary Feature, the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film, the Student Critics Jury Award and the Audience Award. EIFF also gives awards in the categories of animation and short film.
EIFF also offer a range of screenings and workshops for young people as part of our Education activity. This includes our Young Programmers and Student Critics Jury programmes.

Industry -
EIFF is committed to providing support for the film industry through its diverse industry programme. Come and take-part in our range of specially curated industry events and network with professionals from across the industry.
Talent Development -
EIFF is proud to provide a range of talent development programmes that support filmmakers across a range of disciplines and at various stages of their careers. In the past four years EIFF has developed the personal skills and projects of over 100 filmmakers in roles including producers, composers, screenwriters, directors and animators.

Education -
EIFF is passionate about working with younger audiences, and in 2014 provided a range of screenings, events and workshops especially for this audience.
This included EIFF Youth Hub, a unique space that provided events for 15 to 26-year-olds looking to explore a future in the film industry; Teen Spirit, a strand of the Festival programmed by our Young Programmers; and our Student Critics Jury which seeks to discover the future film critics of Scotland.
