Fantastic Four is a 2015 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the third Fantastic Four film to be distributed by 20th Century Fox, and a reboot of the Fantastic Four film franchise. Directed by Josh Trank, with a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, Simon Kinberg and Trank, the film stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Reg E. Cathey, and Tim Blake Nelson.
The story centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

In the mid 1990s, Marvel sold the rights to a number of its hottest properties at a time when it was in the throes of bankruptcy. Among the spoils, Fox got the X-Men and Fantastic Four, and Sony picked up Spider-Man. Licensing deals also led to films starring lower-tier characters like Daredevil, the Punisher and Ghost Rider, but the rights have reverted to Marvel after those projects failed to break out.
Fantastic Four premiered in New York on August 4, 2015, and was released in the United States on August 7 the same year. The film received a mostly negative reception from critics and audiences.

As the first superhero team title produced by Marvel Comics, it formed a cornerstone of the company's 1960s rise from a small division of a publishing company to a pop culture conglomerate. Ever since their original 1961 introduction, the Fantastic Four have been portrayed as a somewhat dysfunctional family. Breaking convention with other comic book archetypes of the time, they would squabble and hold grudges both deep and petty, and eschewed anonymity or secret identities in favor of celebrity status.
The 2005 Fantastic Four is an American-German superhero film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name. It was directed by Tim Story. It was the second live-action Fantastic Four film to be filmed. A previous attempt in 1994, titled The Fantastic Four, was a B-movie that ultimately went unreleased. Fantastic Four was released in the United States on July 8, 2005. Despite being a box-office success, the film received mixed reviews from critics. A sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, was released in 2007.
