USPA NEWS - In Hollywood Reporter, David OYELOWO said he was “very honored“ to be chosen. “I am officially the only person on planet Earth who can legitimately say: "I am the new James Bond" “” even saying that name is the cinematic equivalent of doing the “˜to be or not to be´ speech,“ he said....
As a reminder, David Oyelowo is playing Martin Luther King in SELMA which is a Historical drama portraying the events of the 1965 civil rights movement in Selma, Alabama. It was released on february 6, 2015 and a co-production UK / USA. The protest, which culminated in the historic march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965, marked one of the most dramatic moments of the civil rights movement and was instrumental in Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act that same year.

Ava DuVernay, director of SELMA, makes a thrilling surge into the front ranks of American filmmakers here.
After completing his studies, Oyelowo took to more stage work, being featured in The Suppliants. In 2001, his award-winning lead role in Henry VI was the first time a king was portrayed by a black actor in a Royal Shakespeare Company production. He later acted in The God Botherers and Prometheus Bound.

David made history in 2000 when he became the first black actor to portray an English monarch for the Royal Shakespeare Company when he played the title role in a production of Henry VI Parts I, II and III.
Kenneth Branagh, who directed Oyelowo in the film As You Like It, says: "He has a talent - and he has a talent for his talent. He works hard at it, he maximises everything he has". Oyelowo's other films include the Oscar-nominated The Last King of Scotland. (Hollywood Reporter)

The Guardian reports that he was selected to voice 007 in Trigger Mortis, an official Bond book written by Anthony Horowitz, and commissioned by the Ian Fleming estate, to be released on Sept. 8.
Speculation over the casting of a first black Bond onscreen refuses to abate, with Luther star Idris Elba continually linked with the role despite ruling himself out on numerous occasions. British bookmakers have Idriss Elba among the favorites to replace current BOND David Craig. Damian Lewis, Tom Hardy, henri Cavill, Michael Fassbender are also said to be in the running.
